Tires
Keeping your auto and truck tires inflated to their proper pressure not only makes for longer tire life but saves on fuel. Both of these are contributions to reducing global warming. The saving of fuel is the obvious part. But having to replace tires less often, times the hundreds of millions of vehicles worldwide, makes for a massive savings in the materials and energy needed for these resource-intensive ’consumable’ items.
But what IS the proper tire inflation for your vehicle? While 32 psi (pounds per square inch) or 2.25 kgs/sq.cm. is a common value for many cars, it is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ value. So how can you find out? Check out Proper Tire Inflation from the Rubber Association of Canada.
