Second Home is a project created by Chinnaworn Jarin, an enlightened Buddhist monk living in Thailand. I was fortunate to meet Chinnaworn several years ago, and have been effectively a co-director of the project. Second Home started out to be a haven for children of his village, Pang Term, about 80 kilometers from Chiang Mai, Thailand, but has been expanded in philosophical scope to be a part of the support network intended to encompass all people everywhere.

We conducted a Permaculture in Thailand workshop there in January of 2008, our inaugural teaching event, but have now firmly established Second Home as a ‘valley academy’ for the teaching, learning, and practice of the principles and ideas of sustainability.
