Plant a Tree

So let's get 'down and dirty' now. Let's put our spade where our speech is and actually plant a tree, or two, or three, or ten!

If you haven't got the land, or the time, or the talent to nurture a seedling over time... but you still want to plant trees you can do so by proxy for a modest amount of money. There are not end of organizations on the Internet who are involved in such tree planting projects. However, there may also be some 'eco-carpetbaggers' in with the lot. So we have looked for ones which we know to be reputable outfits and have listed them below.

  • American Forests (title="American Forests" target="_blank"americanforests.org) is the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization. Citizens concerned about the waste and abuse of the nation’s forests founded American Forests in 1875. Their tree planting project allows you to participate for a very nominal donation.
  • The Arbor Day Foundation holds its mission to be inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. Explore their website to see how you can join in their efforts to replenish the forests of the world.
