Bedtime
At the core, we are talking about changing one’s deep habits, shedding old wasteful ones, and gaining new energy-conscious ones. In that spirit, why not form a habit at bedtime of going around the house or apartment looking for things that can be turned off for the night. This would include removing chargers from the walls, unplugging electronics, and/or turning off the power switches that they are plugged into, etc.
As with many of the actions we suggest in these pages, this one has a double benefit. First, it reduces your energy use and carbon footprint by that night’s avoided energy waste. Second, especially because of its proximity to sleep, it lets the theme of reducing your energy usage seep into your creative dreaming consciousness. No telling what inspirations you may have in your dreams or during the next day’s activities.
